Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (April 28, 2015) – Brandon Hanks has had a lot of success at Riverside International Speedway, where he’ll compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Saturday during the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass.
Hanks won his first career 360ci sprint car feature at the track in 2012 and he hasn’t finished worse than 13th at the bullring in West Memphis, Ark., during the past three years.
“I think my worst finish came last year during the Rock ‘N Roll 50, but we drove from the back to get 13th so it was a good night,” he said. “Hopefully we’ll put ourselves in a better position this year and we can have a shot at the win.”
Hanks, who charged from 21st to 13th during the Rock ‘N Roll 50 last year, also placed seventh during the other Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at Riverside International Speedway last season. That was one of 11 top 10s in 14 races at Riverside International Speedway since 2012.
“I really like little tracks where you are elbows up the whole time,” he said. “Riverside usually gets pretty slick, but has some banking to it so there’s a lot of slide jobs and side-by-side racing. I’m aiming for my first career ASCS National Tour win, but we’d be happy with a top 10 considering how tough the competition will be and how challenging the track will be.”
Hanks has earned multiple top 10s at the track each of the past three years, including a pair of podium finishes in 2013.
This season he has three podium finishes in his last five races.
“We haven’t been able to race a lot this season, but when we have we’ve showed a lot of progress from last year,” he said. “I keep gaining confidence and we keep learning more about setups so I feel like my first win is going to come sooner than later.”
