Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (April 28, 2015) – Channin Tankersley looks to rebound from a sour start to the season when he heads to a pair of Texas tracks for the second time this season.
Tankersley will race on Friday at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont and Saturday at Battleground Speedway in Highlands with the ASCS Gulf South Region.
“We weren’t able to finish either race during the ASCS Gulf South opening weekend in late March and we haven’t been able to race since then so we’re more than excited to get back on track,” he said.
Tankersley was involved in an early crash that resulted in a 19th-place result at Golden Triangle Raceway Park during his season opener. He then finished 10th the following night at Battleground Speedway after being caught up in a late incident that didn’t allow him to see the checkered flag.
“The positive from that weekend is that we won our heat race and made the feature redraw both nights,” he said. “The results don’t show our speed because we got involved in a couple of crashes so if we can make it through each race clean this weekend I know we’ll be in contention for a couple of wins.”
Tankersley had recorded eight straight top 10s at Golden Triangle Raceway Park prior to the season opener. He has been to Victory Lane during each of the past two years at Battleground Speedway.
“A win or two would go a long way for our team,” he said. “The rain has kept us from racing much this year so it’s frustrating that our last races weren’t the best results. The goal is to get a couple of great finishes this weekend to even things out.”
