On the 17th in Granite City, Illinois at Tri-City Speedway, Paul started 2nd in his heat and rallied on the cushion to win. Starting 4th in the dash and finishing 3rd, that sat him starting 3rd on the grid in the feature. The track took rubber early in the feature and while trying to find a line around cars, Paul ultimately finished 4th. Paul's normal crew members were unable to attend the show, so with a pickup and small trailer with hardly any spare parts, and the help of some great friends, a top five finish was a great end to the evening.
The following night at La Salle Speedway in La Salle, Illinois, the IRA vs MOWA series went head to head. A 40 car field was at hand and after not getting as good of a qualifying run as Paul wanted, he still sat front row inside in his heat race with the 24 car invert. Paul jumped to the early lead and never looked back to take the checkers in his heat race. Making the 10 car redraw for the feature, he started 10th and moved forward until the track took rubber. After struggling with the car, a 15th place finish and the car rolling in the trailer was the end result.
