Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (April 22, 2015) – The Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass is one of the premier sprint car events across the country.
The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event, which features Budweiser as the Victory Lane sponsor, invades Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark, on Saturday, May 2.
“The Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass was one of our first events and we’ve worked extremely hard to build it year after year,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “We always know that racing at Riverside International Speedway for 50 laps will produce some of the best side-by-side competition in the nation.”
That was the case last year as Arkansas natives Derek Hagar and Tim Crawley diced for the lead throughout the longest race on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour schedule. The duo passed each other at least a half-dozen times before Hagar ended on top of the podium, which marked his first career Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph.
“You have to be there for the whole 50 laps,” he said. “You can’t do anything stupid and take yourself out. It was pretty awesome to get the first ASCS win at the Rock ‘n Roll 50 and get the guitar as a trophy.”
Besides the mark on a driver’s win list and the $4,000 payday that comes with it, the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass presents a custom guitar – sponsored by Budweiser this year – as the unique trophy.
Crawley is the winningest driver in the history of the event. He’s scored one preliminary win and two finale victories to garner a pair of guitars.
“That race in general, from Day 1 when Tony first announced the format and the guitar as the trophy, that deal just sparked my interest,” he said. “It gave me some extra motivation. I’m not a huge guitarist, but I played a little.”
Bruce Jr. and Bergman have also captured wins during the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass.
“There’s a lot of history at Riverside and a lot of history in Memphis with rock and roll music,” Hagar said. “Tony has come up with a good deal to bring that rock and roll deal to Riverside. It’s combining two histories into one to make a big race.”
