Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (April 20, 2015) – Knoxville Raceway: Take Two.
Big Game Motorsports and Danny Lasoski will attempt to compete at the famed half-mile oval in Knoxville, Iowa, this Saturday for the second straight week after last Saturday’s season opener was cancelled because of inclement weather.
“We’re all very excited to get to Knoxville and get some laps around that place,” he said. “We expect to drive the Muddy car to Victory Lane not only this Saturday, but every time we go there.”
Lasoski is the winningest driver in the history of Knoxville Raceway, where he has scored 101 victories – 41 more than second place in the standings – in the 410ci class. Additionally, Lasoski has garnered a track-best nine championships.
“I just seem to run better on those big, fast, wide-open race tracks,” he said. “I don’t know what the reasoning is. The faster the better for me.”
Lasoski said he can easily remember his first feature victory at the track, which came in 1984.
“I won with a last-lap pass coming to the checkered flag,” he said. “I passed Randy Smith. It took two or three days to sink in what was accomplished. Then I was like, ‘Wow. I can’t wait to get back there.’”
Lasoski even recalls his first time attending an event at Knoxville Raceway – the Knoxville Nationals in 1980 when his uncle was competing.
“My dad wouldn’t let me go there until I was ready for it so I spent four years watching before I raced there,” he said. “To win that many races and be that successful is a dream come true.”
