Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (April 20, 2015) – Travis Rilat will make the short trek to Devil’s Bowl Speedway this weekend for the $20,000-to-win Texas Outlaw Nationals.
Rilat is slated to compete at the half-mile track in Mesquite, Texas, which is approximately 10 miles from his shop, on Friday and Saturday with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for the second straight season.
“We didn’t get the results we were aiming for last year,” he said. “We’ve ran well there in a 360ci a lot throughout the years so hopefully this weekend we can produce similar results.”
Rilat made one of the two World of Outlaws main events at Devil’s Bowl Speedway last year and he finished 21st. However, his track record in a 360 sprint car is stellar.
Rilat has earned at least one top 10 during each of the past 10 years at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. He scored three top 10s in 2013 and was victorious with three top fives in 2012 at the track.
“Devil’s Bowl is very unique and is a track that helps to have run a lot over the years,” he said. “We have a lot of laps there and have a pretty good idea about how the track transitions throughout the night.”
Rilat has also recorded feature victories in 2011 and 2006 at the high-speed track. Additionally, he drove to three top fives in 2009, five top 10s in 2008 and three top fives in 2007.
Rilat was scheduled to compete last weekend with the ASCS Gulf South Region, but the doubleheader was cancelled because of the weather.
