Food Challenge Event to Morgan Cup Weekend for National Open Benefit

Jakes Wayback Burger to host Outlaw vs. Posse event to raise money.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – April 9, 2015 - Whether you consider yourself Outlaw or Posse, one thing that sprint car fans can agree on is that a good burger is hard to beat.

Jakes Wayback Burger in Mechanicsburg, serves up one of the best burgers in the area and will host a unique challenge that brings together rivals in the sprint car world. Two drivers from the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will go head to head with two members of the vaunted Pennsylvania Posse in a knockdown, drag out eating challenge.

“Tim Benner from Jakes has been a great supporter of the Benefit in years past,” explains National Open Benefit event organizer Kolten Gouse. “This year, he wanted to go really big and have an event where fans can come to eat and watch some type of competition between Outlaw & Posse. We came up with this food eating challenge. It’ll take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12th. The neat thing is that fans can come by Jakes from 4 until 8 and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the benefit. We’ll have t-shirts, raffle prizes and so much more. I can’t thank Tim and his crew enough for doing this for us.”

Benner is equally excitied.

“We’re looking forward to May 12th and kicking off this season for the National Open Benefit. It's always nice to see the fans and drivers support this wonderful event. Race fans are the best!”

Fans can stop by Jakes Wayback Burger in Mechanicsburg, Pa. at 25 Gateway Drive.

The event serves as a spring board for the Outlaws vs. Posse rivalry in 2015. The team competiting factions will go head to head at Lincoln Speedway on Wednesday, May 13th and then Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 15th, and Saturday May 16th.
Lisa and Vince Magaro started the National Open Benefit in 2008 shortly after sprint car driver John Westbrook was involved in a vicious crash at Williams Grove Speedway. The proceeds went to help Westbrook and his family with medical expenses.

The money raised from this year’s extravaganza will go to the York County Racing Club Injured Driver's Fund, the World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund, Steve King Foundation, the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Fund and the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. Kolten Gouse became involved with the event in 2011.
