Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (April 6, 2015) – Sammy Swindell’s next challenge presents itself this Saturday at 34 Raceway.
Swindell and car owner Donnie Cooper will invade the 3/8-mile oval during the inaugural National Sprint League event, which will mark Swindell’s first 410ci sprint car race since the Knoxville Nationals last August.
This Saturday will also be Swindell’s second sprint car race since he announced his retirement from full-time competition last summer. He finished third during a 360ci race on March 28 when he made his return back to sprint cars.
“If I was hanging on to the 360 than the 410 might be an issue, but the 360 still felt slow,” he said. “A lot of times 410s are easier to drive. You can horse them around a little easier.”
Swindell has finished 10th in each of his last two races at 34 Raceway, which were the past two years during World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events.
“You have to enter the corners and get through the corners differently,” he said of the track. “The tracks that are harder to race on are usually better for me. I see us at least running in the top 10 and hopefully running a lot better than that.”
