With the 2015 Dodge City Raceway Park season opener little more than one week away, fans can get a sneak preview of all the action this Saturday with a car show followed by an open practice.
All racers are invited to bring their cars for display to Dodge City’s Village Square Mall at 2601 Central Avenue this Saturday, April 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for everyone to get an up close and personal look before the evening’s practice.
Pepsi and water will be provided while supplies last to all those that bring cars for display, with drivers receiving free admission to the evening’s practice session for their support of the car show.
After the car show concludes, the focus shifts to the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas with Saturday evening’s open practice session set to run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission to the grandstands is free with pit entry just $10.
Saturday’s practice session serves as a precursor to likely the most exciting season of racing action yet at Dodge City Raceway Park, with the Saturday, April 11, season opener featuring the track’s championship chase divisions of DCRP Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.
The April 11 season opener will mark the first of 15 nights of competition at Dodge City Raceway Park with a number of special events along the way, highlighted by the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Boothill Showdown on July 3-4.
