Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (March 31, 2015) – Joe Trenca has high expectations as his Mucci Motorsports team enters the 2015 season, which begins this Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway.
Trenca recorded a top-10 finish during his two most recent races at the half-mile track in Selinsgrove, Pa., and his goal for this weekend is to register his first career podium there.
“I’m very confident that we can win,” he said. “If not win I’d like a podium finish. That’d be a great start to the year and would build momentum.”
Trenca has grown fond of Selinsgrove Speedway, which is his favorite facility.
“I’m really excited to start off the season there,” he said. “That’s my favorite track. It’s a real big, fast track. You’re always on the hammer. By the feature it’s always racy. That track is a unique track. You have to really have your stuff in order to be fast there. It’s taken me a little longer to get used to than I would want, but we seemed to be a contending car there at the end of last year.”
After finishing 17th, 19th and 17th in his first three races at Selinsgrove Speedway last year, Trenca dramatically improved by posting finishes of ninth and seventh, respectively, during the second half of the season.
“I’m more confident this year than I’ve ever been,” he said. “I’m really, really excited. I’m happy with our new crew chief, Bob Swavely. We seem to mesh pretty well. We have a real good program this year.”
