STOCKTON, CA - His first California and first outdoors event of the 2015 season brought the good with the bad for Michael Faccinto as he ran at Delta Speedway this past Saturday. After storming away to claim quicktime, the Hanford native was stung with a tough feature inversion and ultimately came home with his second top ten of the year as he crossed the line in sixth place.
The day got off to a great start and hopes were certainly high after Faccinto rattled off an impressive 9.756 in qualifying to take quicktime honors. His Kasiner Farms, CS9 Chassis, Seros Racing Engines No. 21G showed plenty of speed early on and he backed that once more with a third place run in the heat race as he moved onto the feature event.
It was there that the 24-year old driver fell victim to an eight-car inversion on a heavy racetrack. Attempting to continue his winning ways from the Outlaw feature of the Tulsa Shootout in January, Faccinto would be forced to do so from the eight spot with some stout competition in front of him.
After slipping back on the initial start to 12th, Faccinto rallied and powered his Factory Kahne Shocks, V&H Fresh sponsored machine back into the top ten running order. With 20 laps remaining Faccinto found himself in the sixth spot with a bad fast CS9 Chassis, but stranded in what seemed to be a no passing zone.
Fighting for every inch and position possible, Faccinto would be unable to grab the final top five finish of the night as he came home in sixth after charging back from a tough start. It was a night on which you could simply do nothing but become a victim of circumstances. The Kasiner Farms team and Faccinto are both pleased with the performance of the No. 21G though, producing plenty of speed at the event looks to be a omen to future success this season.
Up next for the 24-year old talent will once again be Delta Speedway on March 20th, followed by his first visit this season to Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, California on the 27th. Both events will see Faccinto piloting the No. 21G as he aims to garner his second win of the year.
Walker Racing Promotions is looking forward to working with Michael as we bring you the latest coverage, results, news, and stories over what is anticipated to be another great year for the Hanford wheelman.
