Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (March 24, 2015) – Brandon Hanks will head to Texas for a sprint car doubleheader this weekend assuming the weather holds out.

Hanks is slated to compete during the ASCS Gulf South Region season-opening weekend, which had been scheduled for two weeks ago before it was postponed because of rain. He will race this Friday at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont and Saturday at Battleground Speedway in Highlands.

“I’m just ready to get back to racing,” he said. “We’ve been rained out the last two weeks and I’m tired of looking for other things to do on the weekend.”

Friday will mark the debut for Hanks at Golden Triangle Raceway Park, which is a quarter-mile, high-banked track.

“I like bullrings,” he said. “They are my favorite type of race tracks. We’re all closer together and we can really beat and bang on each other without getting in as much trouble.”

Hanks will return to Battleground Speedway on Saturday for his first race at the 3/8-mile oval since his inaugural race last year, when he placed ninth.

“It was a fun place,” he said. “I look forward to going back as well as seeing Golden Triangle for the first time. This should be a fun weekend. After a few weeks off and me getting back in shape again I’m hoping for a top five and if we can I want to win.”
