The racing world has lost a true pioneer. Earl Baltes, the found of Eldora Speedway passed from this mortal world Monday morning at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 93. The American Sprint Car Series offers our sincerest condolences to the Baltes family.
“Earl always made it a point to call and check in with me to see how things was going. He always had kind things to say about us,” comment Emmett Hahn when learning of the passing of Earl Baltes. “He was a racer’s promoter and I’ll really miss him. The whole racing world will miss him.”
Baltes is survived by his wife, Berneice, of 67 years, daughter Starr, son Terry, six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
