Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (March 17, 2015) – Jack Dover is all about winning races.
He has captured at least nine feature wins during each of the past seven seasons, including four years with at least a dozen victories.
“My goal the last couple of years has been to win 20 races,” he said. “We haven’t been able to reach that feat just yet so that’s still the main goal this season.”
Dover, who earned 14 triumphs last season and a career-best 15 the previous year, will begin his chase for the 20-win mark this Friday and Saturday when he will drive for Danny King at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“I haven’t won at Devil’s Bowl since 2010 so it’d be huge to start off this season by going to Victory Lane during the opening weekend,” he said. “You have to be on top of your game at that track so hopefully we can start the season on a strong note and be in contention for a win or two.”
Dover hasn’t been able to compete at the half-mile track very often. However, he has recorded at least one top-10 finish at Devil’s Bowl Speedway each season since his win in 2010.
He placed ninth and 11th, respectively, at the track during his final two races of last season.
“Any time you can get a top 10 with the ASCS National Tour you’ve done a good job,” he said. “However, we’re aiming for victories and I’m confident that we will be a contender when we return to Devil’s Bowl this weekend.”
This will be the first time Dover has driven for King.
