Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (March 17, 2015) – Brandon Hanks is eager to get back on the track.
Following an illness that sidelined him for a couple of weeks and rain that washed out last weekend’s ASCS Red River Region doubleheader in Oklahoma, Hanks is prepared to return to action this Friday and Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“We had to sit out for a few months during the offseason and then came back for one weekend in February, so that was like a tease,” he said. “I can’t wait to get back to racing weekly and hopefully that starts this weekend.”
Hanks competed at Devil’s Bowl Speedway four times last season. He ended with a 13th-place result during two races and was unable to finish the other two events.
“Devil’s Bowl is a very tricky track,” he said. “The corners are different from each other so your car has to be able to handle well under difficult conditions. A lot of people are good at one end of the track, but the best cars at the end of the race are usually the ones who are effective on both ends.”
A good pill draw is also helpful at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
“Ideally we’d be able to start on the front row, get a strong start and have clean air to our advantage,” Hanks said. “I’ve seen a lot of people pull away from the field once they get in the lead and have clean air. Then it’s all about hitting your marks.”
