WOW! What a turmoil of events unfolded during the past off season...the saying of biting off more then you can chew was sure the lay of the land around the Moose shop the past few months. The trailer of Tom's dreams that was ordered in December 0f 2013 was finally re-delivered mid December. It was known that a few items would need to be revamped, but it wasn't in the cards that all the electical wiring, batteries & inverter had to be ripped out and redone. The upstairs storage bins, tire rack and stairs were also remade -- a huge thanks to Randy .... for his welding expertise. And then to top it all off, the person that the broker hired to tow the unit from Texas to California, scratched it!!! So, what was thought would take a few weekends of " sprucing up" took the crew weeks and weeks of every week day evenings and weekends to finally get the trailer in a correct operating status!! Looking back the hours and hours were well worth it, as it is beautiful ! Oh, by the way, its name is Gertrude!!! Unfortunately Aunt Trudy passed away early in 2013, Aunt Trudy knew that Tom & Laurie's passion for racing was unsurmountable and she had always told them that she wanted to give them something tangible towards their passion. Hopefully she's looking down now and pleased with their trailer decision.
With the help of George from Ram-Bull Racing the Moose Stable also welcomed in another "horse" to it's fold. Anticapation was oh so high and emotions estasic when the arrival of the fiesty new black filly, - the New Kistler Engine arrived late January. Needless to say the crew was chomping at the bit to get it installed into the new VIctory Chassis....
So, between all this commotion.... cars still had to be built!! ( minor little detail )
3 months of non stop dedication from Tom and the entire Moose Crew - was all the blood, sweat and even a few tears worth giving up holiday celebrations with family and friends? That would all be decided at the first race at Perris Auto Speedway March 7th.....
