PLACERVILLE, CA (3-1-15) –While Placerville Speedway has been rich in history since 1965, in 2015 it is becoming rich in bonus offerings for this very special season ahead courtesy of additional sponsorship by area businesses that have come aboard for the Red Hawk Casino 50th Anniversary season at Placerville Speedway presented by Thompson's Auto Group, Hoosier Tires and Coors Light.
New to the program this season, a championship bonus to make the season crown more lucrative than previous seasons. This comes by way of new sponsorship funds for this anniversary season courtesy of Domco Plumbing and Jay's Mobile Welding. The added fund will make the chase for the championship very worthwhile to competitors with each titlist of the three weekly divisions earning a bonus for their efforts.
Domco Plumbing will sponsor a $2000 championship bonus to the 2015 Sprint Car Champion and the Limited Late Model champion at the end of this season. This healthy bonus comes in addition to funds from the annual championship fund as well as monies from Hoosier Racing Tires which contributes to the championship annually.
The Domco Plumbing Sprint Car and Late Model Divisions are not the only ones that will be benefiting from added winnings this year as the Pure Stock division will also boast a $2000 bonus to the champion courtesy of Jay's Mobile Welding and Fabrication.
Domco Plumbing has been a longtime supporter of area auto racing, sponsoring several drivers at various tracks as well as special races in previous years. Locally owned and operated, Domco Plumbing is a full service plumbing company in the region, providing all types of plumbing installation and repair both commercial and residential.
Jay's Mobile Welding and Fabrication has over two decades of welding and fabrication experience in the region. Jay's mobile welding specializes in general welding, fabrication and repairs, heavy equipment repair, custom wrought iron and more where they fuse quality and safety with design.
Following an informal announcement of the increased championship winnings, area drivers are excited about the season to come at Placerville Speedway. Winning a title this year at this famed track will not only come with great notoriety being the Golden Anniversary year, it will also pay a champion for the fruits of his or her labor with these special sponsorships that present monies to the racers.
"It's tough for racers to go race every race in a season these days. With the bonus championship money it makes it worthwhile for the drivers as well as the sponsors," said Ryan McDaniel, a veteran driver who has raced in all parts of the nation aboard late models, dirt modifieds and more.
"We don't do this to get rich. We do it because we love it but we can't have our houses foreclosed on either," added McDaniel. "We are lucky to have great sponsors like Domco Plumbing and Jay's Mobile Welding putting up extra monies and for the community supporting this track that has an awesome promoter like Alan Handy. All of these factors are to hard find anymore."
In addition to the championship bonuses, the sponsorship of Domco Plumbing and Jay's Mobile Welding will also contribute to several other inflated winnings throughout the year with the collaboration of funds from Red Hawk Casino, Thompson's Auto Group, ADCO Driveline, Hoosier Tires, Riebes Auto Parts, The Mountain Democrat and Coors Light,
On several nights throughout the season, the winners of each division will fare well with victories in events such as the Mark Forni Classic, the Donnie Tilford Big Trophy night tribute and the annual Tribute to Al Hinds that take place during the season.
Additional sponsorship funds can be earned in this year's special "Placerville Posse" series, a special four race series that includes the following events; April 11, April 25, August 1 and August 22 and pays additional winnings on each of the nights with the Sprint winner earning $2000, Limited Late Models $750 and the Pure Stocks $500. Additionally, any driver in the sprint car division who can claim victory in all four of these races will earn an additional $2000 bonus thanks to Red Hawk Casino and the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians and associate sponsors. If no driver wins all four, these bonus funds will be split among those who do win on these designated nights and a special Placerville Posse trophy presentation will take place on the final night of season.
The fast qualifier each week will also earn a $100 bonus courtesy of ADCO Driveline. This will mark ADCO Driveline's third consecutive season as the weekly fast time sponsor. In addition to the track, owner Ken Short sponsors several different drivers among multiple divisions year after year.
Placerville season will host action as early as March 29 with a special Sunday evening practice night. April 4 the King of the West Sprint Cars will be joined by the Midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association followed by the April 8 STP World of Outlaws Sprint Car event that will be followed by opening night of the 2015 championship campaign on Saturday April 11.
