Maxwell Industries Teams Up for National Open Benefit for Awards

Industry leader to present ‘Hard Luck” award during marquee event

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – February 26, 2015 – Sometimes, luck makes all the difference in the racing world.

With that in mind, KoltenGouse Promotions has teamed up with Maxwell Industries, a manufactuer of shock dynos, to present the National Open Hard Luck award. The prize, a $2,000 gift certificate towards the purchase of a shock dyno, will be given to a driver who is determined to have had some hard luck during the feature event on Saturday, October 3rd.

“I want to thank Steve Watt from Maxwell Industries for coming on board and putting together this program with us to give back to our race teams,” said KoltenGouse, operator ofKoltenGouse Promotions. “Our charity event has always been geared towards Injured drivers charities, and to have Steve come on board and want to put together awards to help race teams is a huge credit to his dedication to our sport".”

Also the National Open Benefit will award a $2,500 gift certificate or two $1,250 gift certificates to the driver that finishes 5th in the B-main or the first 2 non-qualified drivers from multiple B-mains (depends on car count/event format) Those certificates will be good towards the purchase of a shock dyno.

Lisa and Vince Magaro started the National Open Benefit in 2008 shortly after sprint car driver John Westbrook was involved in a vicious crash at
Williams Grove Speedway. The proceeds went to help Westbrook and his family with medical expenses.

The money raised from this year’s extravaganza will go to the York County Racing Club Injured Driver's Fund, the World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund, Steve King Foundation, the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Fund and the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. KoltenGouse took became involved with the event in 2011.
