Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Feb. 15, 2015) – It’s been a long three months of waiting to race for Brandon Hanks.
“I’m just ready to get back out there,” he said. “I can’t wait to get the 2015 season started.”
Hanks will open the new season next Thursday through Saturday at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., for the Ronald Laney Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. It marks his second straight season competing at the event.
“Last year we didn’t get the results we wanted, but we learned a few things that I think will help us going into this year’s event,” he said. “That track is tough. It changes a lot throughout each night so you have to be on top of the conditions at all times.”
Despite missing several events last year, Hanks finished the season ranked 11th in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings – the highest of any driver who didn’t compete full time. He registered four top 10s with the series and seven heat race wins. Hanks also led his first career Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour feature laps during the final weekend of the season.
“We ended last year with a lot of momentum,” he said. “If we can pick up where we left off we’ll be in good shape.”
Hanks will also race in Florida with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour the following weekend when the series debuts at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala. It will be the first time Hanks has competed at the 3/8-mile oval.
“I love racing at new tracks and going to new places,” he said. “My team is really looking forward to the next two weeks of racing in Florida.”
