PETERSEN MEDIA: Competing with the World of Outlaws Series on a regular basis is a daunting task, though it is a challenge that many hope to be able to take on one day. In 2015, Destiny Motorsports team owner, Rick Rogers, gets to fulfill a goal of his he has had since his team’s inception as he will put Craig Dollansky and his team on the road against the stiff competition of the World of Outlaws, as they vie for the 2015 championship.
“We are very pleased with how our team has come together this off season, and during the Winter Heat in Arizona,” Rogers said. “We have added more crew members, and have worked diligently to ensure that the team has everything they need to run with the best in the world all season.”
Aligning with new marketing partners and manufactures over the winter, Rogers’ Destiny Motorsports team, and new driver, Craig Dollansky, spent a week in Arizona this past January, shaking things down, and when the dust settled, the team took some strong runs, highlighted by a third place finish, and continued to work, with their focus shifted to the World of Outlaw season opener, that is just under a week away.
“As a car owner, we have made it very clear to our team that we are here to compete at a very high level, and plan to be in contention for a championship at the end of the season,” Rogers added. “We believe we will go into this season as major underdogs, and we are okay with that. We are all very confident with our crew and our driver, and we are all very excited to get this started.”
Though business keeps him away from the race shop more often than he would like, Rogers has the utmost confidence in his team, and their ability prepare for the task ahead.
“Our Crew-Chief, Scott Benic, has done an excellent job at helping us build this team into a contender over the years without breaking the bank, and he continues to help get this team stronger,” he noted. “Craig and I have been very focused on building deeper relationships with our partners, and will continue to do so, as we continue to grow.”
Behind every man is a great woman, and Rogers also wanted to give credit to his wife, Barb, for letting him continue to grow his race team.
“To have a team on the World of Outlaw tour is a dream for me, and I can’t thank Barb enough for letting me do this,” he said. “It amazes me with what she lets me do to make this team the best it can be. As a family, we have met some amazing people through the racing world, and are looking forward to our new adventure.”
