PETERSEN MEDIA: Since announcing that they would chase after the 2015 World of Outlaws Championship with Craig Dollansky behind the wheel, Destiny Motorsports has been very busy getting prepared for the daunting schedule. With just a couple of weeks until the grueling schedule kicks off in Florida, Destiny Motorsports Crew Chief, Scott Benic is eager to get back to the track, and test his team against the best in the sport.
“The past two years have been very instrumental in developing the package that we have been working to assemble,” Benic said. “The team has been working hard and things have been coming together nicely. We formed a partnership with Maxim Chassis, and Al Parker of Al Parker Engines, and we have been very pleased with how things have gone already.”
The timing of Destiny Motorsports’ move to the World of Outlaw series with Dollansky could not have come at a better time, as winter racing in Arizona provided a nice test and tune session. With a new engine-chassis-driver combo, Benic and company are already pleased with results.
“The addition of Craig Dollansky as our driver has already helped us in fine tuning the parts we have in place to make us stronger with each day,” Benic added.
With a new driver, and a new challenge also comes a couple of new crew members to go along with Benic, and Destiny Motorsports veteran, Brad Plank.
“Along with Brad Plank, who has been with me for the past couple of seasons, we have also brought on a couple of young, hard working men in Chevy Corn, and Beau Bunker,” Benic noted.” Along with myself, and the help of Bryan Sundby, the boys are really picking up what we are trying to do, and it should help our organization out in the long run.”
Though Benic and company have been very busy in the shop, and at the track, behind every great team, are great car owners, and Benic was not shy in his gratitude toward Destiny Motorsports team owners, Rick and Barb Rogers.
“The Rogers family have provided us with the parts we need to succeed over the last few seasons, and this new challenge is no different,” he said. “I know for a fact that this entire team is looking forward to building off of what we started last November in Charlotte, NC, as well as earlier this year in Arizona, and having the type of season that we all believe we are capable of having.”
Already with five starts to their credit in 2015, as well as a podium finish, Destiny Motorsports will begin their journey in just a few short weeks as they kick off their journey with the World of Outlaws.
