TULSA, OK (January 17, 2015) Trey Marcham wrapped up his River Spirit Expo Center tour with a strong showing at the 2015 Chili Bowl Nationals. Coming off a week-long break after winning two Golden Drillers at the Tulsa Shootout, Marcham made his presence known on the Tulsa Expo Raceway among some of the nation's top drivers.
Racing in a Josh Ford Motorsports Midget (#73T) as part of Wednesday night's preliminary, Marcham kicked things off with a second place finish in heat race eleven. Starting outside row four in his qualifier, Marcham impressively drove his way to a second place finish, securing his spot in Wednesday's main feature event.
"I was excited to know I had locked in to the main event," said Marcham, "and it was a huge relief knowing we didn't have to worry about running a B-feature."
Marcham ended up sixth in Wednesday's feature, placing him straight into the
B-main line up slated to run on the final day of competition, avoiding the alphabet of races that started with N-Features to accommodate the 326 entries in the prestigious event.
With six main event transfer spots up for grabs in the B-main at Saturday night's Chili Bowl Nationals, Marcham ran fifth for a majority of the race, then got jumbled into traffic during a restart, causing him to be knocked back two spots. In a dicey dash coming out of turn four on the final lap, Marcham barely fell short of the last transfer spot, finishing seventh.
Marcham's solid performances at the 2015 Tulsa Shootout and Chili Bowl Nationals have secured him a spot on the dirt track racing radar for the upcoming season. All signs point to him being a contending competitor in 2015. Marcham is looking forward to continuing his career with Josh Ford Motorsports and is planning to run many USAC shows this season.
Marcham's full racing schedule will be posted at a later date. Please continue checking www.marchamracing.com for the most recent Marcham Racing news!
