HANFORD, CA - A chassis that has recently took the California coast by storm in over the last year is now set to return to the larges micro event of the year with a large slate of talented drivers. The CS9 Chassis based out of Hanford, California has seen success, domination, and victory all over the west coast this year and now prepares to bring five talented drivers to Tulsa, Oklahoma this winter.
The five-car team will include four of the best California micro sprint racing has to offer and one Oklahoma wheelman that has more than shined at the annual Tulsa Shootout event in his backyard. It is a team made mostly of what drivers around the country fear every year at the Shootout, a dominant team that has won six “Golden Drillers” in the past three years, known as “Team Green.”
At the forefront of CS9 Chassis is a Tulsa Shootout A-Class champion and dominator of the Super 600 class in California, Michael Faccinto. A driver that has won one title at this prestigious event and claimed numerous top five finishes will again return with victory in mind this year. Michael will be piloting the Kasiner Farms #21G in the A-Class division as well his own #9S in Winged Outlaw.
The biggest news coming into this event for the team, however, does not lie in their home state of California. In fact, it sits right in the home state of the Tulsa Shootout as “J-Rock” Jerrod Wilson of Oklahoma returns to an event he has seemingly owned in previous years as he wheels a CS9 Chassis for the first time. The four-time champion will compete in the Outlaw Winged division with his #90S, a car that has won two Tulsa Shootout titles with Heath Duinkerken behind the wheel.
A current Sprint Car ace and two-time Shootout winner, Mitchell Faccinto, will return to his roots of micro sprints at this event. A driver that has shined in the A-Class division will see competition in two classes as he aims for an elusive third Driller to take back to Cali. The Hanford resident will pilot the Sero’s Racing Engines #11 in both the A-Class and Winged Outlaw divisions.
The lone Non-Wing CS9 will be brought as Tyler “TJ” Smith guides the Fabrication Unlimited #14 in the A-Class Non-Wing division. Smith, a wingless veteran from California has dominated and won several events throughout 2014 in his home state. The talented wheelman now prepares for action in Oklahoma as he takes on nearly 200 drivers in the Non-Wing division.
Closing out the five-car stable at CS9 Chassis is another two-time Shootout champion, DahneLynn McKay. McKay, who has claimed two titles in the Restricted division and a top five in Outlaw at her 2013 showing comes to the “Sooner State” eyeing her first Outlaw Driller. The young and talented teenager will be wheeling her #79 machine around the Tulsa Expo Raceway 1/5th mile.
“We went to Tulsa last year with only five shows on it and for Heath and I to make the main event was a big accomplishment. We’ve worked hard on it all year long and we fell like we got an even better product heading back. I’m excited with the drivers we have to hopefully bring home a couple Drillers.” Said Michael Faccinto.
This five-car team of CS9 Chassis’ will certainly look to carry past success into more strong runs near the front at this prestigious event. The four California drivers of Michael and Mitchell Faccinto, McKay, and Smith will close up their stellar 2014 seasons back home and come to Oklahoma in late December for this week-long race.
Walker Racing Promotions is looking forward to teaming with Michael, Mitchell, Jerrod, TJ, DahneLynn, and everyone at CS9 Chassis as we bring you the latest news, updates, and results from their trip to Tulsa.
