Kaylee Bryson Becomes Second Female in History to Win Tulsa Shootout with Restricted Score!

Tulsa, OK | January 9, 2015 - After a five-win season in 2014 that saw young Kaylee Bryson overcome a broken wrist and score wins at the Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial and several more events, it would obviously be a tough task to top. However, the talented 13-year old garnered the biggest win of her short career on only the third day of 2015 as Bryson piloted her Ross Racing, Sawyer Chassis No. 11B entry to a Tulsa Shooout victory in the Restricted division, becoming only the second female in history to win at the prestigious event.
Competing in the Restricted A-Class division, Bryson would seek action at the Tulsa Expo Raceway on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the fie-day extravaganza. The week kicked off with a bang as she finished second in her both her heat race and qualifier, which proved strong enough to give the Muskogee native the pole for the main event.
As the green flag dropped on the 25-lap feature, Bryson started her hunt for a “golden driller” as 23 other fierce competitors hoped to track her down and take away the top spot. With a calm, cool, and collected attitude along with a lightning fast Sawyer Chassis under her, the young champion fended off challenge after challenge as she held on her to lead.
Eventually the feature event would close down and no driver would be able to pass the talented driver as Kaylee Bryson took home the 30th annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout Restricted championship. The impressive win easily became the biggest of her career and put her in the record books as she become the second female in history to win the Shootout.
This year’s Shootout and last year’s five-win season is all just a sign of the incredible success to come from such a young, determined, and talented driver.
