Du Quoin, IL- It was an action packed night at the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin, IL with a total of 59 cars showing up to run the event. Kyle would come out of the gate 8th fastest in hot laps against the stout field of cars. He would then start on pole of his heat race and after leading the first lap would cause a caution after spinning in turns 1 & 2. Kyle would make it interesting by coming all the way from 7th back up to finish in the 2nd positon in his heat race to grab a starting position in qualifier 1. Kyle would hold onto a guaranteed position in the feature event with his qualifier finish of 7th place. With only 21 cars starting the feature, the #31 Illiana Insurance Agency and Bergfield Farms- sponsored, Esslinger-powered Spike midget would roll off starting 19th. Kyle was the only rookie in the race in only his 7th career midget start. After plenty of cautions and wrecks, Kyle would roll past the finish line scored in the 11th position picking up his best career POWRi national midget finish.
