Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (August 17, 2009) – He's already secured one American Sprint Car Series championship in 2009. Now, Jason Danley will try to close in on a second title as the ASCS Midwest Region makes it debut atop the ½-mile Sedalia State Fair Speedway on Sunday night.

Danley put the clamps on the ASCS Northern Plains crown with a fifth-place run at Crawford County Speedway on July 31. In the process, he also extended his ASCS Midwest points lead to 110 markers over fellow Nebraska shoe Chad Humston.

Hailing from Lincoln, NE, Danley has posted seven top-ten runs in ten events to build his advantage over Humston and crew. Following Sunday night's combined outing with the Winged Outlaw Warriors, three nights of 2009 competition remain for the ASCS Midwest Region.

Danley and Humston are chased in Midwest points by Northern Plains reps Eric Lutz (Sioux Falls, SD) and Lee Grosz (Harwood, ND), with Springfield, Nebraska's Jack Dover rounding out the current top five.

While Danley's consistency has moved him to the top of the point charts, Humston ranks as the only driver to break into victory lane on more than one occasion with triumphs at I-80 Speedway (May 21) and I-90 Speedway (June 26).

Other ASCS Midwest feature wins have been spread around amongst Eric Lutz, Brian Brown, Jonathan Cornell, Billy Alley, Shane Stewart, Bronson Maeschen, Jesse Hockett and Gary Wright.

Sunday night's ASCS Midwest debut at Sedalia's State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, MO, is set to go green at 7:00 p.m.

The semi-banked, 1/2-mile Sedalia State Fair Speedway dirt oval is located 0.5 miles south of US 50 on US 65 at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. For more information, contact the track at 660-221-0275.

The ASCS Midwest Region is slated for 15 nights of competition at eight tracks throughout Nebraska and the surrounding areas of Missouri and South Dakota. The ASCS Northern Plains Region takes on the Midwest in six of those events.
