Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Nov. 11, 2014) – Brandon Hanks is heading the furthest west he has ever been for a pair of races this weekend.

Hanks will join the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday and Saturday at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., for the Cocopah Cup Challenge, which will wrap up the 2014 season.

“I’ve never been any further than Oklahoma out west,” he said. “I’m just excited I get to go. This is a surprise race for me.”

Hanks said his team will likely hit the road Wednesday afternoon and haul approximately 26 hours to the 3/8-mile track.

“I’m just going to have fun this weekend and try to end the year on a good note,” he said. “This is a bonus race for me. I’m still going to have the same goals. I want to make the race and try to go for a top 10. At the same time I want to try to enjoy it more.”

Hanks added that although he has never been to Cocopah Speedway, he has seen the track on TV.

“I can thank MAVTV for that,” he said. “I think I’ve seen Cocopah about a million times. I’ve seen Jason Johnson win a bunch of times. It looks like a pretty fun place.”

Hanks enters the weekend ranked 11th in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings despite limited action. He has four top 10s with the series this season.
