Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 10, 2014) – Big Game Motorsports wrapped up the 2014 season with a pair of top 10s last weekend at The Dirt Track at Charlotte during the Bad Boy Buggies World Finals.

Danny Lasoski piloted the No. 2 Big Game Treestands sprint car to a fourth-place result on Friday and a sixth-place finish on Saturday, when more than 50 cars competed during the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series season finale.

“We didn’t win the races, but I think we showed everybody we were a contender right out of the box,” he said.

The weekend kicked off on Thursday with the qualifying sessions for the Friday and Saturday programs. Lasoski timed in third quickest during the opening round and 10th quickest in the final round.

“The second round we weren’t too happy with,” he said. “I tried to get more out of it than there was and jumped the cushion. At Charlotte the second lap is usually the faster lap.”

Lasoski opened Friday by finishing fourth in a heat race, which locked the Big Game Treestands car into the dash. He then advanced from sixth to fourth place in the dash, which started him on the outside of the second row for the 30-lap main event.

Lasoski moved to third place on the opening lap and he completed a slide job for the runner-up position on Lap 3.

“We got to second behind Rico (Abreu) and we knew it would be a race about saving the tires,” he said. “I was going to wait until halfway through the race to really go after it. When we got to lapped traffic I ran too hard too soon and we ran the left rear tire off it.”

Lasoski finished with a fourth-place result, which marked his second top five in as many races with Big Game Motorsports.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, where Lasoski finished fifth in his heat race to miss a lock-in position to the feature by one spot.

“For whatever reason they dropped the green and we spun the tires like a top fuel dragster,” he said. “I don’t understand why. Guy (Forbrook) worked on it for the B Main and it felt good.”

Lasoski placed third in the Last Chance Showdown to earn a transfer into the main event, which the Big Game Treestands team started on the outside of the seventh row.

“We made more changes for the A Main,” he said. “I thought we were really good and then (Donny) Schatz passed us on the bottom. We moved down there and it seemed to work better.”

Lasoski maneuvered from 14th to a sixth-place result.

“Any time you can advance with that crowd of cars, they are the best of the best, so that was a positive,” he said. “We’re not happy with sixth, but we’re glad we were a contender. I was very, very happy working with the guys at Big Game Motorsports. I want to thank Tod (Quiring) for giving me the opportunity to drive one of the premier rides.”
