Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Nov. 4, 2014) – The 2014 season has ended with 14 feature victories for Jack Dover, who has earned at least nine wins each of the past seven years.
Dover, whose ride fell through for the Bad Boy Buggies World Finals with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series this weekend at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., also recorded 22 podium finishes in 43 races this season.
“I had a very successful 2014 season,” he said. “We didn’t get to race as often as I’d like, but I can’t complain about the year we put together.”
Dover noted that his highlight came in July when he scored three victories on the same weekend for the first time in his career. It jumpstarted a streak of four consecutive wins and five triumphs in eight races.
However, his win during the 58th annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals – July 26 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kan. – stands out among his 14 victories.
“That race has been going on for a long time and to win it two years in a row was pretty awesome,” he said.
Despite a limited schedule, Dover finished second in the ASCS Midwest Region championship standings. He led that region along with the Nebraska 360 Sprints in feature victories.
Dover anticipates a similar schedule next season with the hope of adding more races. That will likely include a handful of events at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, and several with the newly formed National Sprint League.
“I’ll try to run more races and hit that 20-win mark and have another successful year,” he said. “Hopefully we can get a full-time ride or sponsorship.”
