Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2014) – This weekend marks the third trip of the season to Devil’s Bowl Speedway for Brandon Hanks.

The half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, hosts the 41st annual Winter Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, which is an event that Hanks brings high hopes into.

“The goal isn’t going to change,” he said. “I know we can beat these guys. Everything is going to line up one of these days and we’re going to enjoy it when we do win a race.”

Hanks finished 17th during his debut at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in March and he improved to a 13th-place result at the track in June.

“For whatever reason it takes me a lap or two to get going, to get my bearings right and to get my mind to not want to jerk on the wheel like I’m at a short track,” he said. “It’s hard when you’re going at a high rate of speed to barely move the wheel going into the corners. Practice will make you better though.”

Hanks is entering this weekend aiming for a top 10 both nights in addition to gaining valuable experience each lap at the tricky track.

“I like the big, fast race tracks,” he said. “The car wings over and you have to be real smooth on the wheel. We get better every time we go there. We get more things figured out. I look forward to going back to see if we can top last time.”
