Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (Oct. 14, 2014) – Mark Burch Motorsports and Danny Lasoski partnered for their third triumph of the season last Saturday.
The veteran team took advantage of its experience to maneuver from eighth to win on the rubber-down track at I-80 Speedway during the Nebraska 360 Sprints main event.
“With eight classes and all those cars there wasn’t much the track could do to preserve the race track,” Lasoski said. “When it was time for our feature it was already rubber down in turns three and four and really cleaned off in turns one and two.”
Unfortunately, Lasoski pulled the highest pill during the feature redraw following his heat race win. That lined him up on the outside of the fourth row for the 25-lap feature.
“You weigh your percentages,” he said. “You try to strategize your game plan. You have to have a thought process before you start attacking. I knew I didn’t want to spin the tires. If you killed your tires you eliminated any chance of winning. I charged the first lap and then I watched the scoreboard. I never spun my tires until way past halfway.”
Lasoski picked up a handful of positions on the opening lap before he cruised in the top five for most of the race.
“We had a caution and then I really started running hard,” he said. “I found a place in turns one and two and passed the two cars in front of me in the same corner.”
Lasoski took the lead with several laps remaining en route to the victory for Mark Burch Motorsports. It marked the team’s second win, fourth top-two finish and sixth top-seven result this season at I-80 Speedway.
“It’s really gratifying,” Lasoski said. “Mark builds the engines himself. He always gives me a great car to drive. He’s got such a busy schedule and races when he can so it was great to get the win for him at one of his home tracks.”
