Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Oct. 5, 2014) – Trey Starks is busy making plans to close out the 2014 season.
Starks only has a few races remaining on the slate, including the 21st annual Trophy Cup at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., on Oct. 16-18.
“We’re getting down to the final handful of races left this season,” he said. “I’d like to pick up another win or two before we head into the offseason.”
While his racing plan is still up in the air, Starks envisions that his offseason and next year will be similar to this season.
Starks kicked off 2014 by racing in Australia. He then competed in several World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events early in the season before racing in Pennsylvania with the PA Posse for eight straight weekends during the spring.
“I probably sacrificed a couple of wins by racing against tougher competition, but I feel like I grew as a driver and learned a lot this season,” he said. “Our stats might not look as good, but that’s going to happen when you race with the World of Outlaws and PA Posse.”
Starks did record a top 10 during five of his first six weekends in Pennsylvania and he said that will provide a big confidence boost for when he returns to the state either later this season or next year.
“I’m looking forward to going back to Pennsylvania as soon as I can,” he said. “I enjoy the competition, the fans and the challenge out there.”
