Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (Sept. 22, 2014) – It has been a long two weeks off for Cody Freeman, who is scheduled to return to his micro sprint this Friday at Mountain Creek Speedway.
“I’m chomping at the bit,” he said. “I’m eager and still waiting for that first win this season. Now that we’re at the end of the season it’s the final opportunity.”
Freeman has a great shot to score his first triumph of the season this weekend at the bullring in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he has recorded a top five in all six races this year.
“It’s definitely a track I’m familiar with and I know,” he said. “It’s a great track to make a return after such a long break. I’m familiar with the drivers and with the track.”
The team has also decided to aim for a looser setup than usual on Friday.
“We’re definitely going to throw all we have at it,” he said. “We’re going to make a big swing for the fence. All year we’ve worked on trying to make the car faster. We completely rebuilt the carburetors and we just about rebuilt the car from ground up.”
In addition to the fresh race car, Freeman has been rejuvenated following last weekend when he was able to hang out with his sponsors at C&J Energy Services at an NHRA event in Dallas.
“I enjoyed meeting everybody and talking to everybody,” he said. “I look forward to the feature with C&J Energy Services. Hopefully we can give them and our other sponsors a win this weekend.”
