$60,000 RED RIVER OPEN WHEEL NATIONALS! Oct. 10-11

Wichita Falls, TX (9/18/14) by DarinShort.com. At the request of many race fans, the new Red River Speedway (RRS) near Wichita Falls, TX has saved the best for last, and is pleased to announce a wild 2-day event October 10-11, the Red River Open Wheel Nationals (OWN). You all have asked for it, so we're going to "OWN it!"

The OWN features two days of must-see open wheel racing in 5 divisions: Champ Sprint Cars, RaceSaver® sanctioned Sprint Cars, USRA legal Modifieds, Limited Modifieds and Non-Winged Sprint Cars. This will be the first time the RaceSaver Sprint Cars will have taken a lap on the big and fast 1/4 mile RRS track.

A FANtastic event format will greet racers and fans, with wall-to-wall racing on both nights...and there are no entry fees due from drivers to compete at this event. (However, driver registration at the track website is required, and it's free.)

Race fans can get a 2-day grandstand admission pass on race night for just $25!

The Champ Sprints will be racing for $2,000 to win and $200 to start. The RaceSaver Sprint Cars will be racing for $1,000 to win and $400 to start.

But that's not all!

Once both features have been completed Saturday night in the sprint car divisions, the top 10 finishers in each will be redrawn and race head to head for another 25-laps paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start! With another added twist, the race fans will pull out the car numbers for their redraw!

The USRA legal Modifieds will be racing for $3,000 to win and $200 to start. The Limited Modifieds will pay $2,000 to win and $150 to start; while the Non-Winged Sprint Cars will race on Saturday only, for $800 to win and $200 to start (WOW series legal cars only, no exceptions).

Non-qualifier money will be paid to all 2-day drivers, in the amount of $100 for the Sprint Car divisions and the Modifieds, while the Non-Winged Sprint Cars and Limiteds NQ's will each receive $50.

There are no driver entry fees, but we require teams planning to race this event to register their car/driver at the track website http://www.RRSpeedway.com prior to race night (it's free), so we can prepare the facility and staff for the number of teams that will be competing. (Form posted on the OWN event page linked on the home page.)

Grandstand adult prices are $12 for Friday and $17 on Saturday. However, a 2-day grandstand pass is available on race night for just $25! Kids each night are $5 (ages 6-11). All pit passes each night are $35 for all ages.

The races are at 8pm on Friday October 10th, with pits opening at 3pm and the grandstand opening at 6pm. Friday night's program will consist of heat races (with passing points) and Twin A-Qualifiers. The top 4 finishers in each A-Qualifier will lock in to the top 4 rows of Saturday's championship feature. The balance of the field will go straight up (by total points) to Twin B-features on Saturday night, with the top 6 finishers in each tagging the locked in cars. Drivers racing on Saturday only will tag the B feature, and if they transfer to the A, will race for full purse. If they do not make the A-feature, they do not receive NQ money. Friday's qualifying racing program is for lining up Saturday's program and there is no payback, nor entry fee.

The races Saturday October 11th are at 6pm, with the pits opening at 3pm and the grandstands opening at 4pm. Twin B's in each division (except Non-Winged Sprint Cars) will be raced first, with the top 6 finishers in each advancing to their respective Championship Feature event. Both Sprint Car division feature races will be contested early in the running order, as the final race of the night will be the $2,000 to win and $200 to start Champ Sprint vs. RaceSaver Sprint Car event...which should be highly entertaining. The Non-Winged Sprint Cars will have heats and a feature race.
