Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 18, 2014) – Greg Wilson and Chad Kemenah were the first two drivers who committed to the Renegade Sprints.
“I believe in what the series is based on,” Wilson said. “I believe in the people who are involved. I need to make a living and put food on my table and something like this fits a guy like me perfectly.”
The 410ci sprint car series has continued to build momentum with the support of veteran drivers such as Wilson and Kemenah.
“There’s too many people behind it that want it to succeed,” Kemenah said. “If you get that many people who push for it I can’t see anything but the best, most positive things coming out.”
The Renegade Sprints is closing in on its second career race following the successful inaugural event on Aug. 23 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, where Randy Hannagan picked up the victory.
Next up, Wilson and Kemenah will lead the series into Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 27. More than 30 drivers are expected to compete at the event.
“I would look for there to be 30 to 35 cars,” Wilson said. “I think it’s great that Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway is seeing what we’re about. I’m real excited that they are taking the opportunity to give us a chance.”
Kemenah noted that he and other drivers noticed that the fan interaction was as important as the wheel-to-wheel racing during the inaugural event.
“The biggest thing at the first race was interacting with the fans,” he said. “Just to watch their facial expressions and to hear what they had to say up close was worth the price of admission.”
