KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 15, 2014) – For three days each year, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville turns its attention to the stock car world during the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals. This year it is Thursday-Saturday, September 25-27, and the non-profit museum is excited to host a first-time event on that Friday, September 26, at 1:30 p.m.: former championship driver Larry Moore and journalist Dave Argabright will both be signing copies of their book, “On Top of the World: The Life & Times of a Racing Pioneer.”
According to museum curator Tom Schmeh, “This is a real honor for us to host both Larry Moore and Dave Argabright. Larry Moore was the first driver to win the World 100 at Eldora Speedway three times. In addition to his success in dirt late model stock cars, he was quite the pavement racer, too, with the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), the American Speed Association (ASA) and the United States Auto Club (USAC), including in a sprint car. And this is the third time this year we’ve hosted Dave Argabright; the first time was in May when he was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and the second time was in August when he interviewed Steve Kinser at the Knoxville Nationals for winged 410-cubic-inch sprint cars. Both Dave and Larry will be greeting fans and signing their book on the museum’s second floor, following Dave’s interview with current championship driver Jimmy Owens. This is going to be a big day at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum!”
