The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP makes its only appearance of the 2009 season at the Butler Speedway in Quincy, MI, this Saturday night.

The high-banked 3/8-mile oval at Butler will feature several track regulars ready to ambush the regular competitors of the ASCS SOD series.

While trying to hold off some of the Butler competitors, the battle for the ASCS SOD Championship at the SOD Cup continues with defending champion Brett Mann holding a 22 point lead over Gregg Dalman.

Another competitor looking forward to the Butler event is Angola, Indiana’s Ryan Ruhl. The closest event to his hometown this season, Ruhl has lead two other features at Butler this season and was crashed out of the top position on both occasions. Ruhl is still on a quest for his first career ASCS SOD victory.

The Butler Speedway gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing scheduled to start at 7:30.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP is in its 30th season of competition. Twenty-two point paying races are on the calendar with three special non-point races making up the 25 event schedule contested throughout Michigan, Ohio, and into Canada.

The American Sprint Car Series, in its 18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events, brings the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different tracks throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009. Anchored by the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of a dozen different Regions throughout the nation.
