Bristol, WI – September 11, 2014. Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports team headed north this past weekend for pair a prestigious events which also included several outside travelers, starting with the 26th Annual Northern Nationals at the Amsoil Speedway in Superior, WI. Going out 20th of the twenty-three cars on hand, Bill was able to lay down the 3rd fastest time setting himself up with a 6th place starting position in the 3rd heat race. Bill would make his way forward in the heat race to finish in the 3rd position behind Ben Schmidt and Craig Dollansky transferring him into the feature. The #3 pill was draw for the feature setting the 17B to start in the 4th position. Bill would fall in line in the 5th position when the green flew fighting a tight car until an open red on lap five allowed the crew to make some adjustments on the car. Once back under green, the car handled much better as Bill would make his way up to the 3rd position. Bill would track leaders Bill Rose and Dusty Zomer down in lap traffic, but the night would end on lap nineteen when the front axle broke coming through turns one and two.

The team headed south on Saturday to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI for the 14th Annual Jerry Richert Memorial. With thirty-six cars on hand, Bill would qualify midway through laying down the 5th fastest lap setting him up with a 5th place starting position in the 1st heat race. Bill would settle in the 5th position when the green flag flew, but on lap two made his way past Austin Johnson into 4th. The top four ran nose to tail to the finish with Bill finishing 4th behind Terry McCarl, Skylar Prohaska, and Mark Dobmeier transferring into the feature. The #4 pill was drawn for the feature setting Bill up with a 4th place starting position. After the smoke cleared from the fireworks, racing was underway as Bill made his way by Dusty Zomer into the 3rd position trailing John Sernett and Brooke Tatnell. On lap two Bill would dive to the bottom of the track passing Tatnell coming out of turn two and would now chase Sernett. On lap four, Sernett tagged the wall in turn four surrendering the lead to Bill. With Bill now in the lead the race would restart and run another lap before the red flag would fly as turn four ate up another car right in front to the 17B sprinter. The race would resume for three more laps before caution would fly again as a car spun in front of Bill again. Once racing got back underway Bill rocketed out to a sizable lead clicking off laps at a blistering pace. With five laps to go, Bill struggled with a couple of lap cars which allowed Ian Madsen to close in on Bill. As Bill came through turns three and four, the #18 machine of Madsen got by Bill coming to the white flag. Bill would counter his move coming through turns one and two, but Madsen’s momentum allowed him to get back by the 17B sprinter. Bill would make a last corner effort to get under Madsen coming through three and four as Madsen followed a lap car into turn three, but came up just short as he would finish in the 2nd position behind Madsen.
