Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 10, 2014) – While the Renegade Sprints are building a schedule for next season, more than a dozen sprint car drivers have agreed to compete full-time with the 410ci series.

Tim Shaffer has joined Greg Wilson and Chad Kemenah, who were the first two drivers to sign on, to chase the championship next season.

“I think it’s going to be really exciting for everybody,” Shaffer said. “It’s a good group of people and is going to make it fun again. I think that’s the key thing is making it fun for everybody. That’s what our sport is missing. We want to put that excitement back in it. I think we have the right group of guys to make that stuff happen.”

In addition, inaugural Renegade Sprints feature winner Randy Hannagan, Dean Jacobs, Cole Duncan, Danny Holtgraver, Danny Smith, Caleb Helms, Andrew Palker, Travis Philo, Bryan Sebetto and Rob Chaney have agreed to compete with the series to become the inaugural champion.

Series officials are also working to finish a points fund, which is expected to exceed six figures.

Renegade Sprints President Shane Helms, Vice President Larry Helms and Secretary Rob Hunter would like to welcome Treasurer Paul Kistler to the team.

“We are excited to have Paul on board and think he brings a great amount of knowledge and respect to the Renegade Sprints,” Shane Helms said. “Adding Tim Shaffer to the mix of talented drivers is also thrilling. We have a great group of veterans and younger drivers so the future of the Renegade Sprints looks bright.”

Kistler is an engine builder with several championships under his belt. He is also the owner of Kistler Racing Products in Ohio.

“I think it’s going to be a good series,” he said. “It has a lot merit to it. It has some good people behind it. I think that there’s something that needs to be done. I’m excited for it. The success of it would be to get something going, get a points fund and get something going to keep owners in this sport. The biggest thing we need to do is keep owners in this sport.”

The next Renegade Sprints event is slated for Saturday, Sept. 27, at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Pittsburgh, Pa.
