Inside Line Promotions – EAGLE, Neb. (Sept. 9, 2014) – Jack Dover maneuvered to his 14th victory of the season last weekend during a pair of ASCS Midwest Region events in his home state of Nebraska.

The action kicked off last Saturday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, where Dover powered from sixth to second place during his heat race.

“We had a good start and got up to second right away,” he said. “On that big track you can’t catch anybody once they are out front.”

That was enough to earn Dover a spot in the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 4 to start the main event on the outside of the second row.

“We got up to second right away,” he said. “We had the car pretty tight in the beginning. Pretty much it was whoever found the rubber first would win. About five laps in we passed (Tony Bruce Jr.) in the rubber in turns three and four.”

Dover led for the remainder of the race to earn the victory.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Eagle Raceway for the $5,000-to-win Nebraska Cup. Dover advanced from fifth to second place in his heat race, which gave him the most points and a trip into the feature redraw.

Unfortunately, he ended with the No. 7, which started him on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“We had a bunch of restarts at the beginning,” he said. “We got to second in the first two laps. We were right there with (Brian) Brown and we got in traffic and got held up by some cars. He got away from us. Then with nine laps to go the wing slider came undone and my wing went all the way back so I couldn’t really run the top like I wanted to because the car was too tight. I definitely think we would have been right there with him if it wouldn’t have happened.”

Dover finished with a runner-up result to earn his 25th top five of the season.

He is slated to race at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn, Mo., this Saturday with the ASCS Warrior Region. Dover won at the track earlier this year.

“Every time I show up to U.S. 36 I’m looking to win because I get around there pretty good,” he said.
