After a nearly six week absence, Michael Bookout and the BiGFooT Team was sighted at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma. The challenges of the rebuild process after the spectacular crash at Ada, Oklahoma, in July, continued prior to race time of race day. Three of the four trailer tires had to be repaired/replaced on the day of the race due to flats/punctures. At the track during hot laps, the throttle linkage came apart. The rustiness of the crew was evident with a missed set-up for the heat race. After a sixth place finish in the heat race, Michael started at the back of the "A" Feature. Despite damage from contact with a car that had spun, Michael was able to pilot the Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings / Champion Brands Lubricants / Ti 22 Performance sprinter to a 13th place finish, completing the race with a flat right rear tire that was punctured in the on-track contact.
Michael will compete next in OCRS event at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha, Oklahoma, on September 27. A special thanks to Beth Accardi (Michael's godmother), travelling all the way from South Carolina, who was in the pits to lend support to the team.
