Inside Line Promotions – ALGER, Wash. (Aug. 24, 2014) – Trey Starks will be forced to use a backup car for a busy next couple of weekends in the Northwest, where the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will be welcomed.

Following a crash late in last Saturday’s feature at Skagit Speedway, Starks will return to a sprint car he used last year to charge from 22nd to 10th during a World of Outlaws event in Washington.

“It’s a good car,” he said. “We’re going to see if we can get it to work. We’ll see if we can bring our luck back around.”

Starks is coming off a rough finish to his final 410ci test at Skagit Speedway prior to the World of Outlaws visit next weekend. After qualifying fourth quickest and advancing from third to second place in his heat race, Starks lined up fourth in the main event.

“There were three or four complete restarts because something would happen,” he said. “We got hung out on the outside and a car or two slid by us each time. On the last restart I tried to blast it through the top and got in the loose stuff and got tagged from behind and turned around.”

Starks was forced to restart last and after battling back toward a top five, he collided with a spinning car with approximately six laps remaining.

“With about six laps to go I was going to pass a car and one guy got on the inside of somebody else,” he said. “He half spun in front of us and we had nowhere to go. It was a pretty hard hit.”

Starks was unable to continue and he was credited with a sixth-place result, which marked his 18th top 10 of the season.

He will return to Skagit Speedway this Thursday for a 360ci event prior to the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races on Friday and Saturday.
