Bristol, WI – August 21, 2014. Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports team had a triple-header on tap this past weekend which kicked off at the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI for the Kenosha County Fair Races and the Roger Iles Memorial. Friday night started off with a 7th place qualifying effort of the thirty-nine cars on hand on a very heavy race track which set Bill up with a 5th place starting position in the third heat race. Bill would methodically make his way forward into the 2nd position and chase the leader to the checkered flag transferring into the feature. Lining up in the 3rd starting position, Bill would make his way past the leader on lap #2 of the feature and begin distancing himself from the rest of the field. It would not take long and Bill would begin maneuvering around lap cars to keep the others at bay. On lap seventeen, Bill would try to make his way under a lapper in turns three and four, but clipped an infield tire spinning the 17B sprinter around and ending the night early.

Saturday night was a whole new night as the team looked to rebound from the prior night’s misfortune. The night started off with Bill laying down the fastest qualifying lap of the twenty-nine cars on hand setting him up with a 6th place starting position in heat race #1. With a narrow track again, Bill would hang in the 5th position waiting to make a move. Sheldon Haundenschild would get by Bill around the halfway point, but then would bobble due to a flat left rear the next lap. Bill made an evasive move to miss the #48H and would go over the berm in turns one and two losing several positions, but the caution would fly negating the lap and putting Bill back in the 5th position. Bill would finish in the 5th position once the race resumed transferring him into the feature. Being the fastest qualifier, Bill would pull the #5 pill for the feature invert setting the 17B sprinter up with a 10th place starting position. As the green flag would fly, the 6ht place starting car’s rear axle broke causing a pile up in which Bill was caught up in, but would make it through and continue. Under caution, there was a miscommunication over the radio in which Bill came to the work area thinking something was wrong with the car, but was pushed back off with no problems and now restarted in the 21st position. After several caution periods in the early laps, Bill would claw his way forward in thirty-six laps to finish in the 3rd position right on the bumper of the 2nd place running car.

Sunday night, Bill and the B2 Motorsports teams headed north for the first visit since 2008 to the Seymour Speedway in Seymour, WI. The night started off by qualifying in the 3rd position of the twenty-six cars on hand. Bill would quickly make his way forward in the heat from his 6th place starting position to claim the heat race victory transferring him into the feature. The quick qualifier drew the #5 pill for the feature invert lining Bill up with an 8th place starting position in the feature. Once the green flag dropped, Bill began making his way forward and on lap sixteen caught the leader as he struggled to make his way around a lap car going into turns one and two. Bill would close up on the leader’s bumper exiting turn two and going into turn three the leader would go to the cushion and Bill found some bite through the middle allowing him to drive under the leader and into the lead. From that point on, Bill would cruise the final laps to the checkered flag picking up his 9th victory of the 2014 season and 1st at the Seymour Speedway.

This Saturday, Bill and the B2 Motorsports team will head south to LaSalle, IL to take on the quarter-mile high banks of the LaSalle Speedway for the 5th Annual Bill Waite, Jr. Memorial. Bill is the reigning and 3-time champion of this event. The following weekend, on Friday August 29th, the team will head to the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI for the Sheboygan County Fair Race. After a night off, the team will be back in action on Sunday, August 31st at the 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, WI.
