Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (Aug. 11, 2014) – It’s been a little more than two years since Travis Rilat has won at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
The goal is to change that this Saturday when he will return to the half-mile oval located in Mesquite, Texas, in his own car for an ASCS Gulf South Region event.
“We have a lot of laps at Devil’s Bowl over the years and we usually run pretty well,” he said. “We haven’t won a race there in a while so hopefully everything will line up and we can be standing in Victory Lane at the end of the night.”
Rilat’s best finish at the track this season is an eighth-place result with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in March. However, he has also had a couple of DNFs at Devil’s Bowl Speedway this year.
“The first thing is we have to put ourselves in a good position during the heat race,” he said. “If we can get through that well enough to be in the redraw then we can be in contention to win.”
Rilat has earned three feature victories this season, including two in his home state of Texas.
