Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2014) – The biggest week of the year begins this Wednesday at Knoxville Raceway, which hosts the 54th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals Presented by Casey’s General Stores.

Big Game Motorsports driver Craig Dollansky is slated to compete during the opening qualifying night of the four-day event, which culminates with a $150,000-to-win feature on Saturday.

“I can’t wait to get started,” he said. “I feel like we’ve made some strong adjustments and I’m encouraged with where our team is at.”

Dollansky, who has been a full-time competitor at the half-mile track this season, has garnered a trio of feature victories at Knoxville Raceway. Unfortunately, his final test before the Knoxville Nationals didn’t go as well last Sunday.

The night started with Dollansky timing the Big Game Treestands car in fourth quickest out of the 71 competitors during the Capitani Classic.

“Given where we went out, I was encouraged with the time we were able to get,” he said.

That lined him up sixth in an eight-lap heat race that only transferred the top-three finishers to the main event.

“A lot can go on in those heat races,” he said. “I got blocked in a little bit on the start.”

Dollansky maneuvered to a fourth-place result, which relegated him to a B Main. He won the consolation race to garner a transfer into the back of the main event, but was forced to pull off the track early in the race because of a mechanical issue.

“We had a miss develop and couldn’t take any chances with that motor,” he said. “So I shut it down and pulled in.”

The Big Game Treestands team was credited with a 24th-place result.

On a bright note, Dollansky has earned four podium finishes, seven top fives and 13 top 10s in 17 Knoxville Nationals features.
