Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (Aug. 4, 2014) – Joe Trenca is more than ready to tackle a pair of Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints events this weekend.

Following a rainout and a late decision not to head to Pennsylvania for only one race last weekend, Trenca and his Mucci Motorsports team will return to Canada this Friday for an event at Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario.

Trenca made the main event in his World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series debut at the track last week while he competed with a 360ci engine. With everyone on the same engine level this Friday, Trenca has high expectations.

“The car was about perfect up there,” he said. “We know the track well. I feel really comfortable. If I had to pick a race where I think I was going to win I’d pick this Friday. I think I’ve gotten more comfortable with the track.”

Trenca said his team has also figured out his new car that was unveiled only a couple of weeks ago.

“With the new car we were figuring out a few things with it,” he said. “Last time at Ohsweken we didn’t change much and if we did it was just little things. I’m hoping the track will be like it was last week. I hope it stays a little heavier.”

The weekend will conclude on Saturday at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in Canandaigua, N.Y.

“We haven’t been there this year,” he said. “I really like Canandaigua. We had a real good run there last year. We got jumped on the start and the motor stumbled, but it was probably my best race I ran last year. I’ve been there to watch this year and the track looks a little better than last year so I’m excited.

“With our momentum from Ohsweken last week and how we’ve ran at Canandaigua from the past years I feel we have a great chance. Expectations are definitely high this weekend.”
