Freeman Seeking First Win Following Four Podiums at Mountain Creek

Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (Aug. 4, 2014) – Cody Freeman has a stellar track record at Mountain Creek Speedway this season.

Freeman has earned three straight runner-up finishes and he has captured four podiums in as many races at the bullring in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he will compete this Friday in his micro sprint.

“Because of our previous success we use it as a track to try different things and experiment,” he said. “That’s what we plan on doing on Friday. We think we touched on something the last time we were there and we’re going to work on that this time.”

Freeman noted that although his preference is a dry-slick track, he fares well on the heavy conditions that he often sees at Mountain Creek Speedway.

“It likes to be heavy and tacky early in the night,” he said. “Being the first feature to run we have a lot of good track left. It never gets flat out slick, black and nasty. We usually have a consistent track throughout the night.”

That also provides a good development opportunity for Freeman, who noted that learning to use the brake to hit the bottom groove can often be faster than holding the gas pedal down.

This Friday also marks the final race prior to Freeman’s return to Oklahoma the following weekend.

“The goal is to go win,” he said. “We hope everything goes well on Friday and we can pick up some momentum going to Oklahoma the following week.”
