Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, OK, one of the fastest tracks on the OCRS circuit, has historically been a challenge to the BiGFooT team and Michael. But it appeared that Saturday night might be different. Starting 14th in the "A" Feature, Michael methodically passed car after car by taking the high line around the track. He had worked his way up to about 7th or 8th (on his way to a higher finish than that) when IT happened.
Coming out of turn four, the sprinter got a little high and brushed up against the front stretch wall. A series of violent flips ensued, another sprinter plowed into the still flipping car, smoke and steam billowed from the car and a brief oil fire shot out flames. With the JetHot sprinter coming to a halt upside down in front of the flagstand with significant damage, the night was over for Michael. Sore and a little shaken up, Michael was able to exit the car and walk back to the pits.
The BiGFooT team extends it deepest thanks to flagman J.D. Etter who exited the flagstand quickly as Michael's flips came to a halt and helped him exit the car.
This week's "in The Pits" section of the OCRS website has an article about Michael and the "Ride".
