Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (July 28, 2014) – Travis Rilat will make his return to the 360 Knoxville Nationals this week for the first time since 2011.
Rilat and car owner Richard Saumure will compete in the 24th edition of the $10,000-to-win event at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this Thursday through Saturday.
“It’s always great to go back to Knoxville and see all of the amazing fans who show up,” Rilat said. “It will be a tough field of cars to beat, but I’m confident that we can contend for the win.”
Rilat put together his best performance at the famed half-mile oval in 2003 when he captured the SPEED SPORT Knoxville World Challenge. He also earned the pole position for the 360 Knoxville Nationals that year.
“We had a good time that year and it would be great to find my way back to Victory Lane at Knoxville,” he said. “Everything counts for points during the Nationals so it will be important to start off with a good qualifying lap on my preliminary night and continue to build from there.”
Rilat and Saumure have already teamed up for a pair of victories this season.
