Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 28, 2014) – Mark Burch Motorsports has put together a dominant car during the 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary action the past two years.
Danny Lasoski has piloted the team to a preliminary victory during the premier 360ci sprint car event at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, before narrowly missing out on a top five during the finale.
“Mark and the crew have given me a great car the past couple of years,” Lasoski said. “We’ve been able to win our prelim night, but have come up short during the night when it pays the most. Hopefully this year we can stay up front all weekend.”
The team returns to the half-mile oval with preliminary competition set for this Thursday prior to Saturday’s $10,000-to-win event.
Lasoski, who claimed his lone 360 Knoxville Nationals title in 1995, is the winningest driver in Knoxville Raceway history. However, he noted that it’s a toss-up at the prestigious event that has averaged nearly 109 entrants each year during the past decade.
“There are a lot of talented teams every year and we’re right in the mix with those,” he said. “Every time you hit the track points are on the line so it’s important to start off the event by qualifying well during our preliminary night and then go from there.”
Lasoski has timed in 10th quickest during his preliminary event each of the past two years. He has then advanced through his heat race to set the Mark Burch Motorsports entry up for a strong start during the feature.
In 2012, Lasoski took the top spot with 15 laps remaining en route to the win and last year he led throughout the main event.
“It’s been great to drive for Mark the past couple of years and I look forward to continuing our success this weekend,” he said.
